Iroko is an international NGO that has provided support to victims and survivors of sex trafficking, prostitution and pornography for over 20 years. Their work falls into three broad categories:
Direct service provision, where they offer services for women who seek support to create a sustainable life following their rescue from exploitation. The services include legal advice and representation, vocational training, cultural and linguistic mediation, support in searching for housing, and Italian-language classes. Advocacy, where Iroko Onlus campaigns at a national and international level for a global integrated approach to trafficking, prostitution and pornography. Prevention, where their work is supported by a short docu-film entitled “Journey of No Return” and also direct information campaigns on radio and TV in Nigeria.
